Older People

Most people who use our services are older adults, 67 years and up. They use our services for a wide variety of reasons. Be it because of illness, disability, injury or after a stay in hospital, we assist with those tasks which have now become more difficult to complete. We are sensitive and enable our service users to do things for themselves or do things for them when necessary.

Challenging Behaviour

Whether it is a result of mental health problems, a learning difficulty, an acquired brain injury or dementia, we have carers who are able to work with people who have behaviours which are challenging. We aim to match up a carer’s suitability and experience with the person they are supporting.
People with Learning Difficulties
We currently support a number of service users with learning difficulties. Our staff are patient and have highly developed and flexible communication skills to offer these service users the support they need.
People with Mental Health Problems
Our staff are warm and engaging while showing real empathy with service users’ individual circumstances. Our team clearly demonstrates the values and behaviours necessary to work with individuals with mental health problems. Care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment are what we stand for.
People with Physical Disabilities
As well as the older service users, we support those who have physical difficulties related to the ageing process. We have several service users who have physical disabilities. Whether through conditions such as cerebral palsy and motor neurone disease or as a result of a stroke or accident, our carers support, motivate and have a flexible approach to problem solving with our service users.
Dementia
The best place for a person living with dementia is in their community, with the people who know them.

- Marilyn Parfitt (Marie Curie Psychiatric Nurse with 30 years’ experience in the field)

We too believe the best place to care for someone with dementia is in familiar surroundings, their own home. Our carers are kind, compassionate and patient. We currently work successfully with many people with dementia. We are there to take some of the burden of caring for your loved one, providing personal care and support so that they can remain at home.
